What’s the first thing you do when you get a new deck? If you’re answer is “well, skate it what else?”, you might be surprised to learn that there are people out there whose answer to this question is quite a bit different than yours. In reality, when interviewing our customers, we found out that roughly 30% of our decks don’t get skated at all but get hung up on walls instead, making for an incredibly unique piece of artwork and serving as an instant eye-catcher. Needless to say, I also have a nice little skateboard collection hung up right by the entrance to my apartment and not once has it failed me to instantly start up a conversation with people coming to visit.
Now, why do skateboard decks make for such an interesting decoration for your place? Well, for starters, there is a virtually endless number of unique designs to choose from. Skateboarders and brands have been constantly releasing new deck designs for years now and although some might be very simple, almost all have some sort of story and meaning behind them. Oftentimes, you’ll even see designs spanning over multiple decks to create an even more unique look. Also, at just about 80$ a piece, skateboard decks are much cheaper than regular artwork. Besides, if you’ve been skating for a while, you probably have some old decks flying around anyway.
So, weather you want to spice up your living room or are looking for some powerful wall art for your business, you might want to consider ditching that old poster and hanging up some skateboard decks instead.
